What we know about KJ Jefferson potentially entering transfer portal

Jefferson is the leader in pass completions, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total plays, total yards, and touchdown responsibility.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — According to a report from 247 Sports, KJ Jefferson is expected to enter the transfer portal.

However, within an hour after college football writer Chris Hummer's tweet, Jefferson said on his Instagram story he hasn't made a decision yet.

The potential transfer comes after a tough offensive season for the Hogs, with Dan Enos's firing in his first season as offensive coordinator after Kendal Briles' exit last year. After this season's 4-8 record, the University of Arkansas made the decision to hire former head coach Bobby Petrino as their next offensive coordinator— a controversial decision that's sparked a mix of reactions from fans.

The Arkansas Razorback's starting quarterback over the past three seasons has thrown for nearly 8,000 yards and scored 67 touchdowns with 18 interceptions. In the first quarter against Florida International on Nov. 18, Jefferson broke the record for most touchdown passes in Arkansas history.

"It’s almost surreal, it’s a surreal moment just to be able to come here," Jefferson said after breaking the record previously held by Brandon Allen during the 2012-2015 seasons. "That’s a milestone for me. It was one of my goals to come in and make sure I went down in the record books and made history here. So it was just a surreal moment. Like I said, I thank my teammates for always believing in me and making plays for me as well, and me just trusting in those guys.”

Jefferson also broke the school's career passing yards record of 7,765, set by Tyler Wilson from 2008-2012.
